A medium size climber of which fruit are used as vegetable. Extensively cultivated in Alibaug in Maharashtra. Male and female flowers are borne on separate climbers. There is a variety with bitter fruit. Leaves of the climber are aslo used for making curry. It is susceptible to stem galls, caused by nematodes. It is native to Asia. |
