Syn: F. glomerata. A large tree with fruits which are relished be the birds. The fig is actually a cluster of flowers, covered by globular skin. The flowers are pollinated by certain wasps, which enter the fig to lay the eggs. Seeds are dispersed by the birds’ droppings. This is a perfect model of symbiosis. Bonsai subject. Native to India. |
